March 21, 1942: We Have a Newborn Calf

Sun shone and a nice day. I got meals, lay down in p.m. for I started to sneeze in the morning and have a head cold. Will and Gerald chored, and Will went to Whiting Store in the Model A (Jeep), took eggs, got groceries and mail, and met John Sundquist, who was going to the store in his wagon, and he wants to go to Winner next week. Gerald fed the cattle cane and hay, and in the afternoon he and Will cleaned the barn and cow shed on the side, for we have a newborn calf.
