March 19, 1948: One Bull on the Fight

Bright, nice, warm day. I got breakfast and Elva came with pork ribs and bones and fried them, then put them in wide-mouth jars, got 6 qts. I made a chocolate cake, and Elva fried hamburger, so we gave the men a lunch at 3:30 p.m. Will and Joe went to Abbotts, got him, and on to McKees, where they sprayed cattle and had dinner there. They finished our calves and Joe’s 9 head, so 54 in all, and our 7 bulls also, trimmed hoofs of 2 bulls and one on the fight. Will and Joe took Wm Abbott home, then on to Whiting Store to get nozzle, but none there. I did the usual work.
