1928, Dec. 29, Saturday: Nice Biscuits

Cold, bright day and a south wind and it was cold and quite strong. Dave, Rena, Charlotte, Nellie & Harriet came, went at 12:30 a.m. last night for St. Francis and Jeanette and Mary staid up there. Dave hauled 2 loads of cane and he and Nellie, Harriet and Louise went to Rank Schneiderweit’s & Hugh Barton’s dance. Will, Rena, Charlotte and I started to Ed’s but no go so Will fixed fence and I got dinner, then Dave started car and we went to Ed’s, got our car, home via Roy Carr’s & Clarence Hutchinson’s. Will then took our cattle to Moore Creek and Dave chored. Harriet, Nellie & Louise cleaned all the house and Nellie made a night-gown also cared for bread while I went to Ed’s, she had nice biscuits. Will has pleurisy pains today and Harriet had them yesterday. Roy got mason tools and went on west to Tate’s where he stays.
