April 2, 1932: Armbrusters’ Dance

Bright except a dusty haze in the morning and the wind blew from the north and a little west. Miss Kulhany washed clothes and cleaned her room and went to Armbrusters’ Dance with Otto in the evening. I got meals and baked bread and cake and mended and ironed clothes. Roy, Will and William deheaded cane in a.m. Ben came at noon, also Curt, and they finished the combining of cane.

Will and Oscar Jackson, who came in the evening, got J. H. Tate and took me to Armbrusters’ Dance, and they went on to Lakeview Tax-payers’ Meeting. Wm went horse-back to Dave’s and on to the Dance, and we all got home at 3:40 a.m. and to bed at 4 o’clock. There was a nice crowd at the dance and I enjoyed the music that came from Presho, a banjo and violin.
