1934 May 18th Friday

Another Bright hot day, and in p.m. a few clouds. N.W. wind, some small hail and a good sprinkle of rain then clear again in half an hour. We fixed lunch for Elmer, Paul and Will and they finished putting cement around the bottomless tank east of Sundquists and Paul and Will came in after dark and did chores. Joe did the work and baked ginger-snaps in Nell’s Little Oil-Stove Oven and I started to write letters for Will but no finish, and told Joe so many things about the beginning of New Life in a New Country. I slept in p.m. and worked at my Georgette Blue Dress and washed the slips for same. Nick Nickereen brought a mare here to break.
