1934 May 7th Monday

Bright but wind blew quite strong and was dusty but a nice morning and clouds and wind in eve. I went to Kitchen in morning and Josephine and I [made] breakfast and she washed so many dishes and cleaned tables and I baked pies (Lemon and Prune) and we got dinner also supper and Josephine mopped the floors in p.m. and made beds up-stairs. I slept in p.m. Elmer, Will, Mr. Fred Cramer and Son Gordon dug at a well east of John Sundquist’s and came in time to chore in eve and had water in same. C. H. Elshire stopped and went on to Will in pasture.
