1934 May 5th Saturday

Bright and nice. I was all in with cramps with my game leg and foot so never got up until about 9 o’clock a.m. and then Will left for wind-mill one Moore Creek in a wagon to connect the water-tanks and he got breakfast and fixed his lunch. Elmer after choring went horse-back to his home and had some threads cut on a pipe for the tank, then on to Boyd’s where he had dinner and Narvin took the pipe to Will on Moore Creek and helped him work at the tank and Elmer brought Boyd’s car, then he and I went to Valentine and I took Osteopath treatment from Dr. E. A. Wise and Elmer bought a pair shoes adn we got a sack of bran, some groceries, bread, rolls and minced ham, gas and oil and came home, stopped at store and Sophie’s shoes there so sent them on to Whiting (Ed’s) mail-box, got a Crippled Child welfare dance ticket, the mail and home. After Will and I got supper, Elmer went with Carl Gehlsen to the dance at Boarding School which was given for crippled children fund. Narvin staid all night.
