1934 March 27 Tuesday

A strong, dusty S.E. wind, bright. Elmer and Will chored and after breakfast Carl Gehlsen came and took [Will] towards Wood and they met a big truck so got him to leave from Roundy’s this eve for Pine Ridge, so Will & Carl came back in time for dinner. Carl went to his shop until 4 p.m., back again and took Will to Roundy’s to meet the truck. Elmer fed the stock hay from the big-stack and chored in eve and helped Ed butcher a beef, for Ed, Rena and Yvonne came this a.m. and he traded a cow to have a calf for our barren one and then went home to get his, took to butcher and back again and waited until eve on account of dust. Sophie got meals, baked bread and we visited with Rena and I cut out every-day dress for Sophie.
