1934 March 12 Monday

Bright, nice day, a north-west breeze, just enough to dry the washing nicely, for Sophie washed the bed blankets and sheets, and everything dried nicely. She also got meals, and I helped warm dinner. I took a bath early a.m., visited with Ben Clausen, who came for a pair of work-bridles, as his are at Winner yet, and I slept in p.m., hemmed wash-rags out of old towels. Sophie made all the beds and swept the floors, also. Fritz got a load of hay in the hills and fed it to the stock, and in p.m. he shut the hogs in the old garden lot, for one sow has 6 little pigs in the barn. Fritz chored in the evening as Will is at Pine Ridge yet.
