1934 March 9 Friday

Bright but cold and never got more than 14 above zero, it snowed last night and ground was white this morning but settled in day. Fritz gave stock hay and alfalfa from supply here at home and went to see if our horses were in pasture and Tom Whiting came back and helped him put coal in basement and groceries in store-room up-stairs and Fritz had to do all the chores alone these days, for Will at Pine-Ridge. Sophie cleaned all the down-stairs and mopped it also and I helped her get dinner and in p.m. I rested and we then made a cake. I put receipts in book, played solitaire also. Ben used Tennessee to get his cow at John Carr’s, he bought at Brinda Sale.
