March 3, 1934

1934 March 3 Saturday

Rained quite a bit in night but sun shone to-day. I worked at receipt-book a little with Sophie’s help, baked 2 lemon and 1 apricot pies, slept in p.m. and visited with Ben Clausen. He helped John Carr pack ice yesterday and said that Lawrence Fitch and Mrs. Leroy Koepp were to be married. Fritz hauled a load of hay from hills, gave to stock and in p.m. gave calves a load of alfalfa and looked for hogs. Will came in from his trip to Dallas and had to get the car fixed at O’Kreek yesterday on account of bum spark-plugs. Wm Van Epps brought in 4 cows, 2 yearlings, 1 steer and 1 heifer and a calf and staid for supper then Will took him to his horse at west gate and Fritz on to Lattimores where he spends week end. Sophia got meals and all the necessary work. Ben walked on to the store so never staid for dinner.
