1934, February 21, Wednesday

Was a real blizzard last night, just after Fritz got in from Lattimores and we went to bed about 10:30 p.m., so Will and Fritz got up, saddled the horses and went up to east of Wagners and got in the cattle and they went to bed again after 11 o’clock. I coughed most of the night so this day only played solitaire, read papers & magazines and cared for a very sore throat and bad cold. We got up late. Fritz and Will went to store in a.m. and p.m. Will to Wood via Wm Pierce’s as he stopped here Monday inquiring when to Town. Fritz gave cattle alfalfa in p.m. Maggie ironed the washing, got meals and all the necessary work. Will & Pierce came home via O’Kreek and stopped at O’Kreek to see Pierce’s mother. Charles was home with a blind right eye caused by a stone hitting him when digging at Boarding School well, this well was 16 ft. in diameter and men went down in it to dig.
