February 15, 1934: Will is getting thin from cutting wood

1934, February 15, Thursday

Bright, nice, temp was 52 above. I sewed on rug in a.m., and p.m. played cards awhile with Clarence Whiting, then they went home via Rock Creek Store and I slept awhile, played solitaire and with Maggie’s help cleaned and turned casings that Ed and Ben cleaned very nicely. Will, Ed and Ben butchered a hog in a.m. Will and Ben cut poles into posts in afternoon and Ben staid until after supper and Fritz crossed him over the river on horseback. Fritz hauled a load of hay from hills to cattle in a.m. and a load of alfalfa to calves in p.m. and got Ben’s wagon and Lattimores’ Male Hog, then to the store and got mail and his package from Montgomery Ward & Co. Maggie got meals, all the necessary work and baked pie for dinner and in p.m. cut out her dress. Will still has a cold and is getting thin from cutting wood and posts.
