February 1, 1934

1934, February 1, Thursday

A few clouds early morning, then bright and a west wind dried the washing before night and temperature was above 50. Maggie also got meals and the necessary work. Will chored and Ben came and they went to the store for the mail and Ben mailed a mink hide to Sears Roebuck & Co. and in the afternoon they cut and trimmed posts. Fritz gave the stock a load of hay from the hills in a.m., and p.m. he and Will put that one in the barn. I sewed at the stocking rug but it is so business, also read the mail and played a little solitaire. Bud Whiting and Carl Gehlsen came in Tom’s car to get Wm Whiting’s Roan cow-hide as Wm is butchering a hog at Tom’s to sell at Rosebud tomorrow.
