January 3, 1934: Snip the Mule

1934, January 3, Wednesday

Cold last night. Bright and 20 above zero at mid-day and breeze in p.m. from N.W. dried the clothes so they could be brought in from the line, for Maggie had 3 weeks of washings and it was a large one, also got the meals. I am still fixing the receipt-book, read and wrote letters, and Will and I looked over bank statements and found our mistake. Will helped Fritz stack load of hay he got in hills and the one he got in p.m.was given to stock. Will went to the store and also Iner Sorensen’s but he no buy Snip the mule as he bought a horse. Wm Whiting came in eve and we played rummy.
