Aunt Hattie’s Diary for 2014

Daily entries are returning for 2014! In the coming twelve months, I will be sharing Hattie’s 1934 diary from 80 years ago, day by day, as well as occasional excerpts of interest from other years. Happy New Year to everyone.

1933, December 31, Sunday

So warm last eve after supper, we sit in front-room, without fire and I sweat reading and fixing receipts by big-lamp. Fritz to Lattimores until Tuesday, he went after supper. Maggie has a cold but managed to get the meals and swept the rooms. Will chored and fed cattle hay in the feed-rack. Ben came and also Narvin & Mr. Boyd for Narvin’s clothes. I read and played cards and after, Will, Maggie and I played rummy.
