October 11-13, 1925

October 11, 1925, Sunday: Was a rainy, misty, cold, cloudy day. Jake & Will went to Ed’s, had dinner and Jake came home and Will went around cattle and was nearly froze on trip, so got overcoat at Dick Schmidt’s. Cora & children and Louise & I were home all day. The men moved stove from our room to kitchen, and old one outside, and we fussed around and cooked the meals. George Smith, Wagner & Davis came, also John Wisenberger and Noble Moore for the night.

October 12, 1925, Monday: Not very warm, and cloudy most of the day. Jake looked this a.m. for his horse, and in p.m. went home with family, also Noble Moore went home. Will fussed with hogs that he and Jake shut up. I had such a cold in head, could scarcely see. Louse to school. Guy and Ray stopped here to see Will, but he was around the cattle. I made bread and Louise made cake in evening.

October 13, 1925, Tuesday: Was cloudy most of day, but not so cold. Louise to school, and Will went to Smith’s cornfield near Roundy’s, and got 24 bu. of corn. I took care of the meat, but still have a cold and oh! so tired.
