in Misc. Diary Entry

October 8, 1923 and 1937

Oct. 8, 1923: A bright day & warm so that flies were so thick. Will got corn and hogs at Wards and Mr. Knoll helped. They butchered at 4 p.m. Messrs. Flloyd, Lloyd & Hallie Crawford, Mrs. Mary Crawford, Mrs. Erva Gallentine & Virginia & Floyd’s girls & Harvey’s girls were here. I did only ordinary work.

October 8, 1937, Friday: Will and I, after choring, went to Rosebud. I signed for 2 quarters of sub-marginal for grazing, then Nell Larmer, whom we met at the café, and I went to the hospital, where we called on Mary Brandon, who had gall-stone operation. Also we saw Dr. Lavell, who gave us advice worth $1,000,000, so he said, and it was just to take a laxative and that my nerves and cords are paralyzed in my throat, so I am in a great fix.
