September 6, 1923: Rained last night and cold and cloudy morn, but bright and windy day until about 5 p.m., cloudy and sprinkles, a bright evening. We went via John Neiss to Dave’s at St. Francis, S. Dak. a.m., had dinner near the old Jake Scheingmann place and got to Dave’s in eve. Phoebe at Boltz and Nellie playing with children and Dave threshing.
