A bright day but east wind cold. Will hauled a load of corn to hogs across the creek and hauled alfalfa and hay. I finished Will’s shirt and in eve mopped kitchen and Will went to thaw out pump but it froze.

1933 Feb. 23rd Thursday

A very nice forenoon, p.m. east wind and some clouds in eve. Wm chored and Ben came and they drove a broncho and in p.m. went to Moore Creek and Harry Furrey’s mare has a broken leg. I got meals. Wm got in water so I washed clothes and dried what I got washed but couldn’t finish because I got too tired so gathered cobs in eve. Wm chored late for Will is still away to Dixon, S.D. Linfred Martin brought back single-tree he borrowed.

1943 Feb. 23rd Tuesday

Cloudy cold Northwest wind, and snow fell last night and at times spitted some to-day. After choring, Mr. & Mrs. Wm Abbott came so Will and I and they went to Robert Gibson Sale Near Jim Dowd’s and was large crowd. Van Epps went and W.D. came home to chore and bring a small steel cupboard they bought and Sarah, Sterling, Elsie and Billy were there with Mrs. Gehlsen & children, so came back there and W.D. got them in eve. Margie staid at Abbotts last night and Cora Ann went to school to-day. Abbotts home at once after sale.

1953 Feb. 23rd Monday

Bright, nice day and thawed some. Men gave cattle hay and after dinner Dan took Cat and Dozer, Will Pick-Up, and they went to Bridge East [of] Whiting Store and Will on to get mail but no records yet. Betty washed clothes and put on line. She and Calvin came up late p.m. when Will coming from Hidden Timber got stuck East of House and Dan pushed him Up Hill. I sewed on Dresses, am getting them nearing completion. Played solitaire and Read some as Men got mail and Will mailed letters.
