1923 Feb. 20th, Tuesday

A bright day but breeze cold in a.m. but warmer in p.m. Will hauled bedding for the pigs then started to nail portable hog-house to-gether. Nell, Boyd, Lee, Fred & Baby Fred came on 1 o’clock from Winner and near beat train to Spencer. Fred, Lee, William King & William Whiting came out here in Fred’s car in p.m. for awhile. I went with Will across River with corn to hogs and tried to thaw well.

1933 Feb. 20th Monday

Cold, partly cloudy and a south breeze. I got meals and baked bread. The men chored and Will got a load of hay in hills and Ben and Wm fixed hides and Ben took to store to mail and back here at noon. Henry, wife & son left for home. Guy Bailey, Tom Colome & wife, Wallace Widener, Lew McKee came for a round-table discussion about pasture-hills and taking in cattle.

1943 Feb. 20th Saturday

Was a nice day. I got meals, laid down in p.m., cooked last 5 qts chicken in oven and baked 3 mince pies. Seth, Martha, Carol Jean, Norma Fay and Helen Marie came this p.m. I sent 1 pie with them, they stay at Ed Whiting’s and Rena, Clarence and Yvonne stay at Mission for Yvonne to go to school. Will and Van Epps went to Clausen to get a small chicken home in p.m. Wm Abbott came and Men got in horses from Winter Pasture and caught 1 mare to halter break so there are 1 calf, 2 Geldings and a team of Mares to break. Abbott took a gelding and Mare he bought from Calvin Cutschall home this p.m.

1953 Feb. 20th Friday

Partly cloudy but at times Sun tried to Shine in p.m. but North wind moved snow a lot and got to below this night, so I kept Front room heater going all night and wasn’t none too warm, this means Thursday last Part an dFriday after midnight. Men gave cattle alfalfa Stack and wasn’t none too nice but Dan book Cat and Dozer and made a road over hill South of Dan’s by going South after he pushed snow South of Barn on Hill and was it deep, but only hay to get out in a hurry as Cattle need feed. I got eats, sewed on everyday dresses and Will didn’t feel too good but we played Canasta in eve. Betty never came up but Dan brought Milk.
