1923 Feb. 18th Sunday

Another bright, cold N.W. breeze. I went to Spencer and William came out and He and Will rode Lazase & Pevine around to Ernsts & Aug. Pahl & Tegral & McDuffes and Virgil Farlands and Angels and home, then to town for supper. They brought Rocky here before noon to put with Brood Sows. Mamma still has the Flu. Mrs. O. Ernst, Mrs. Tom Ernst & Mrs. A. Woolhiser, Havalin and Lorin came to see Mamma.

1933 Feb. 18th Saturday

Bright, nice day but towards eve was cloudy. The men chored and Wm got a load of cane after he hauled out Old Nell, Ben’s horse, who died yesterday and Roy got a load of hay in hills for our stock. I got meals, mopped Kitchen floor, washed a few dish-towels. Will and Ben went to Valentine and Back in eve. Mr. & Mrs. Henry Arcorne and Son Henry Jr. came this p.m. from south of Rosebud where they live.

1943 Feb. 18th Thursday

Was a real nice day. Sun shone brightly and very warm. I got meals and put 10 jars chicken in cooker. I baked mince-pies yesterday. Will sealed chicken late p.m. We visited with Wm., Mrs. and Cora Ann Abbott, who brought us a card table for a anniversary 25 years present and we played 500 on it. Cora Ann chopped small pieces lath and sticks, brought them in. W.D. worked at home after choring and caking cattle. he went to sign A.A.A. papers in p.m. and fixed model A and it runs again. Margie came here thinking Elsie and her mother were here but she went home with W.D., they to get chickens and turkey in eve at Claude Van Epps. Claude & Mary were here yesterday.

1953 Feb. 18th Wednesday Ash Wednesday

This beginning of Lent, was cloudy after a fair a.m. and looked like snow this eve. Men gave cattle hay and caked them. In p.m. got the Range Horses out of Wagner Land to My Creek and He went to Whiting Store in eve, got to-day Mail for Will went earlier to Mail letter, got Sugar and Salt and the Mail of Last 2 days but no Valentine Paper. Tom is going to Mission this eve to Range Meeting and Will to go along as Dr. Reed Cody, Veterinary, to explain things but Looked too stormy so Will no go and we never even played cards. He read and I played solitaire. Still sewing on everyday dresses. Last I made 5 years ago when Angie Levi [?] and Duane lived here. I made 8 of them, cannot get that many this time and have only 1 of these left and 3 light-colored ones I made sometime since then but when (Notion I must sew).
