1923 Feb. 16th Friday

A bright day and very cold N.W. wind but not so strong. Will hauled hay from west in a.m. and p.m. hauled alfalfa & corn to hogs. I started to sew a dress and got it pretty well along but am feeling none too well. Mamma has the grippe these days. C. E. Furst died Tuesday and was buried yesterday at Spencer.

1933 Feb. 16th Thursday

Bright, warm day and clouds in S.W. in eve but passed away before bed-time. I got meals and not much else. Walter Ableidinger and Wm Knoll left for Spencer, Nebraska this a.m. Oscar Jackson and Will went to Erban Browns and got a hood fixed for well so we can pump water now. The men just did the chores and visited with men coming here to get things. Ben came to clean off his hides and Wm Chauncey got his poles. Wm went to Moore Creek to see how horses were.

1943 Feb. 16th Tuesday

Was a nice day. I got meals but have a sick Stomach so only played solitaire and laid down. Will went to count Horses in Winter Pasture, saw a car, it was Reynolds, Asst. Range Inspector, Rosebud, and Speck Blacksmith. They came to count our stock and we are O.K. for amount of Range grazing. We went to Wm Abbotts Sunday on way home from Legion Meeting and Brownie Anderson and Family were there so we asked about cow that Abbott shipped to Wood Bros., came to Van Epps, had supper there. They milk their cows that they got at Claude Van Epps and [they?] are that was here, so got a lot [of] cream.

1953 Feb. 16th Monday

Partly cloudy and cold. Men gave cattle hay and went to Arthur McElroy Sale S.E. of Carter on Cotton Wood Creek, South of 18 Highway about 2 miles South. They first got light test for Dan’s Pick UP at Andrea’s Garage, Carter, on to Winner, got License for Dan’s P. Up, Groceries. Left our Percolator over a week ago, Winner Gas & Electric, send it to be new Fire Unit and fuse, no get yet. Betty never came up and I am alone so sewed on everyday dresses, played some solitaire, and got eats.
