A regular dust-storm all forenoon as wind started to blow during night and kept up all day and oh so cold as wind from N.W., bright all day and p.m. not so much dust. We only did ordinary work. Will got water at Sherlock’s last eve. Floyd brought Will’s gun and got his on way home.

1933 Feb. 13th Monday

Snowed in night and continued in a.m. until 10 o’clock, then sun shone and was a nice day but ground all covered with snow. The men chored and Wm cleaned at Barn and Will got a load cane and he and Roy hay at hills in p.m. Wm churned butter at noon and he came in from Ed’s at 2 a.m. and brought us some beef. Will and I never slept last night so this is a miserable day but I managed to get meals and bake bread and clean a little. Narvin Boyd brought turkeys and posts for sale and got a load of corn to take home.

Men gave cattle hay on Side Hill North Road in Bull-pen and Dan cleaned Yard and front yard fence of snow also road west [of] trees. They ate dinner. Stanley and Pearl Whiting came in their car this p.m. Men vaccinated 24 yr. Heifers for us, they lunched on Fish Sandwiches, Malt Drinks, and Apple Pan Dowdie [Pandowdy]. I ironed rest of washing and mended some, played cards, got eats, just solitaire. Betty brought us Milk while Calvin Slept. She ate some lunch when we did.
