Feb. 10, 1943: Still it remains cold

1923 Feb. 10th Saturday

Cloudy in forenoon and p.m. bright, a very cold N.W. wind all day. Tom Ernst & William Whiting stopped on way to Ernst with a mule. Tom changed saddles as he used Will’s yesterday. We went to Spencer for dinner and came home at 5 p.m. Louise & Lorin staid with Mamma while boys went to Fairfax. Will felt bad in p.m., sick at stomach.

1933 Feb. 10th Friday

Bright, cold 10 below this morning. Very strong N.W. wind and at times stormy looking but no snow here. The men chored and it was so cold that Will fed stock and put paper over windows and Wm went to Oscar Ross, Rock Creek Store and ordered some coal and on to look at horses on Moore Creek. Roy came for his turkeys in p.m. Wm cut wood. I got meals and too cold to do Much else.

1943 Feb. 10th Wednesday

Still it remains cold but got to 16 above and wind blew from Northwest so was cold indoors. I kept fire all night in heater. I feel bum on stomach so laid down but cut out 2 summer night-shirts for Will. I cut 2 cotton Flannel ones for him last p.m. and sewed one but in eve before bed-time and had cramps all night in right leg. Will and Van Epps chored, fed cattle cake and W.D. went to Claude Van Epps and got a load of furniture and some oats in sacks and brought our mail but we no hear form Batteries at Valentine.

1953 Feb. 10th Tuesday

Blowing Snow but got more bright in p.m. but guess no Epke Sale at Kewanee S.E. [of] here in Cherry Co., Nebr. Men fed cattle and Will no feel good but drove Tractor to Shed out [to] Stack hay. I got eats and still Diarrhea both day and night, it seems I get this when weather is stormy or at least when we are housed in closely. I am sewing some on everyday dresses. I have 4 finished now with one I wore last weeks. Betty brought up Milk to-day and waded through deep snow as Men are busy then come in to drink Coffee or Malts. Will reads a lot.
