1923 Feb. 8th Thursday

A bright cold day. Will had the grippe so did chores morning and eve and in bed part of day. I wasn’t very pert as had a sore throat but churned butter and tried to sew.

1943 Feb. 8th Monday

A beautiful day until 3 p.m. began to cloud in north, was a north wind and at times blew so swtiched frozen washing out a little but they still quite frozen at dark so Elsie brought them indoors. She put hers in basket and took them home after supper for she and Billie and Margie Totten of Norris came this forenoon and Elsie washed the clothes. Machine broke a cog but Wm Abbott and Whitcher put motor in that was upstairs in store-room, one Will got form Wm Matousek of Carter to grind sickles last summer and it works fine so in p.m. we finished washing. Mrs. Abbott and Cora Ann came and Mr.  He got the Tractor that was at Wagner Shed. Will took him up there. They staid for dinner and went home. W.D. hauled Hay to the bull-pen and a load to cows here and moved his things from here to his house, the oil-heater, chair and etc. and after supper they took their clothes. Wm and Elsie, Billie, Mrs. Lloyd (Sarah Van Epps), 3 yr. old boy and Marjorie came last night and W.D. came here before midnight to get some clothing for they staid at the Wagner house last night and Bill came here for Breakfast and walked down.

1953 Feb. 8th Sunday

Bright with only a few clouds. I wrote above about Mass, it is this a.m. and I am too all in to do much but wrote in diary and Will and Dan gave Bulls & Calves hay and Will came in house to mop kitchen and Porch and sweep our Back Porch and Front-room, washed Dishes. Dan looked at his traps and is down home. Betty and Calvin came up in p.m. and Dan set traps and came so we played 500 and Canasta. They went home and to Mission this eve.
