1923 Jan. 27th Saturday

A nice day but South wind cold at times. Will took care [of] more pigs and fixed hog-house. I baked bread and did up the [?] so we went up town in eve to stay all night with Papa as he is getting worse so Uncle Chris and Louise Ernest came and staid all night also.

1933 Jan. 27th Friday

Bright, cold and S.E. breeze in eve. Wm chored and finished hay rack reach also visited with Ben. Mr. Lattimore came before dinner and Mr. & Mrs. Tom Colombe came at noon and Mr. was riding a broncho. Roy went to Rossburg in a.m., helped us cattle Turkey hens in p.m. for Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Corey, then he went to Whiting Store. I got meals and started to render lard. Will cut up some meat and feels better.

1943 Jan. 27th Wednesday

Was 20 above when we got up and rose to 46 above in p.m. Sun shone a nice day. I had cramps in stomach early morning so didn’t feel good all day but [got] meals, laid down, played solitaire and made an order to Wards. W.D. mailed after dinner. He worked at his shed to-day, also fed cattle and chored. He hauled hay and Sudan yesterday and worked at Wagner Place. Ben Clausen came horseback on his new pony, staid for dinner and went to Whiting Store with W.D. He wanted to trim his pony’s hoofs. A Mr. Hiliary Clinton of O’Kreek came to sign for 1943 A.A.A. program.

1953 Jan. 27th Tuesday

Bright nice day. Men fed cattle and made a gate for corral somewhere they need one. Mr. Joe Handley, Valentine, Clements Bulk Slelgas deliverer brought over 200 gal. Skelgas and then Winner Gas & Electric came to fill the tank but was all filled. I sewed on my Gray and Blue everyday dress, this is remodeled so it fit, wrote some in diary and accounts. Betty was up for awhile as Calvin asleep. Pat Hedien, Doris & David Whiting came up awhile this eve. Athel, Thomas and Jimmie at Wales. They caught Dan taking a bath. They went to Wales after we played some Canasta.
