Was a cold N.W. wind and I hung out clothes and they froze but in p.m. cloudy and started to snow. Will hauled corn to hogs and we went to Spencer in p.m. to meet Mr. Jacobsen to sign application for loan and to see Papa as he is worse. John Storm funeral to-day.

1933 Jan. 26th Thursday
Bright, but cool day. I got meals and visited with men for Will still has Flu and Jay Tate came and they talked everything. Wm chored and worked at hay-rack reach. Will started to cut up pork in eve. Wm took Roy some this a.m. John Sundquist brought our mail and mailed letter. Messrs. Anderson and Keelzer, Tripp Co. Commissioners, were at Mission to see R. F. C. about work for John Gaul Family and came here on way home.

1943 Jan. 26th Tuesday
Was 8 below last night but got to 40 above this p.m. Sun shone, a lovely day. I got meals, breakfast at 7:15 a.m., started fire at 3:45 a.m. in heater, cook-stove at 5:45 a.m. then staid up, had to lay down after breakfast for an hour, again in p.m., had aches and pains from Washing clothes yesterday but managed to dry the dampness out of them to-day, played solitaire, cooked a kettle of beef stock, carrots and cabbage. Will ate breakfast, left for Wm Chaunceys so He could go with Will to Pierre Clinic to-day. W.D. and Will were down there last eve. Wm Abbott got Van Epps trailer to town.

1953 Jan. 26th Monday
Bright nice day. Men fed cattle and went to Abbotts but Billie and W.L. were at McCormicks. They were here Sat. on Tractor with snow plow and cleared a road to their Place. Men took Tippy Abbott’s dog home as it barks all night and still in day. Such beautiful nights. Moon so bright, guess he gets lonesome for Home. They got mail late p.m. and we got records from Sears. Shirts from Warren, Pennsylvania, New Process Company. I was glad to get everything. I finished sewing Blocks for a new quilt but have trouble with Stomach . Betty brought Calvin up and he seemed strange but feels better. Got cloudy in eve.
