March 23, 1922: Father Nicholas’s Farewell at Highland Inn

March 23, 1922 (Boyd County, Nebraska) : Was a little cloudy in forenoon and wind blew from north, rest of day bright but cold wind. Chas. Ward and William Whiting helped put 3 loads hay in barn and hauled 3 loads alfalfa to stack, which is all Sherlocks’ stacks of alfalfa. I did only ordinary work and churned a little butter. We went to Father Nicholas’s farewell in evening at Highland Inn. Was a large crowd there.
