August 11, 1926
Bright until p.m. [then] a regular rain and hail-storm. Early morning was misty for Wm never went with horses but brought them in from the pasture. Mr. Wheeler and Will went to Valentine with a load of hogs and brought back some corn and salt. George and Abe Elshire went around the pasture to see where fire-guards are to be made and in p.m. George fixed around wind-mill. Louise, Bess and Nellie went to Saint Francis in p.m. I did ordinary work.
